Catalan wildfire brought under control

A massive wild fire that has destroyed over 500 hectares of national park in the north east of the country has been brought under control, emergency services have confirmed.

The fire was first reported on Friday afternoon at the Cap de Creus national park, which has resulted in 350 people being evacuated from their homes.

Over 150 firefighters as well as 5 aircraft were involved in fighting the blaze, the cause of which is currently under investigation however a discarded cigarette is believed to be the most probable cause.
