Coronavirus: Incidence rate continues to rise across Spain

The Ministry of Health has reported a further 8,427 cases of the coronavirus, and an increase in the incidence rate to 148.84 per 100,000 people – compared to 139 on Tuesday.

Concerns over another wave of infections are starting to rise, with just over 3,000 people hospitalised due to the virus and 562 in intensive care.

Yesterday saw a further 38 covid related deaths also be recorded.

The latest data pushes the country just above the 5% positivity rate threshold – anything under 5% suggests the spread of the virus is under control.
