Parties held in towns and city streets to mark end of state of alarm

The state of alarm has come to a close, with people taking to the streets in the early hours of Sunday morning to celebrate the end of the latest restrictions.

People poured into squares in cities across Spain, with police moving people away from the Puerta del Sol in Madrid.

Restrictions on movement between regions has been relaxed in most cases, and restaurants and bars will also be able to stay open until 11 p.m. However, a limit of four people per table remains and indoor dining is limited to 30% capacity.

Whilst curfews have been removed from a number of regions, four regions are keeping the curfew: the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Navarra and Valencia.
