Tenerife to move to level 3 coronavirus restrictions as cases rise

The island of Tenerife is to move to level three coronavirus restrictions, following an increase in the number of cases.

Restrictions will come into force at midnight on Saturday morning.

The incidence rate of infections on the island is almost double that of the other islands on the archipelago.

Gran Canaria, La Palma, Fuerteventura, La Gomera and El Hierro remain on level 1, with Lanzarote and La Graciosa on level 2.
