Three arrested on suspicion of smuggling cocaine into Spain

Policia Nacional have arrested three people after breaking a gang that is believed to have smuggled hundreds of kilos of cocaine into Europe from Southern America.

It’s believed that the gang disguised the drugs as charcoal to avoid detection by sniffer dogs.

Over 50 Officers in both Spain and Portugal began the investigation last year, after noticing a business was importing items that did not match it’s operations.

A shipment arrived in Portugal before being taken by road to a warehouse in Castilla y León, where officers raided the premises arresting three and confiscating 862 kilos of cocaine.
