Tributes paid after soldier killed in training excercise

Tributes have been paid after a soldier of the 65th Special Operations Course died whilst taking part in a training excercise.

34-year-old Sergeant Rafael Gallart Martínez was found unconcious and face down in a water jump during a training session.

Teams at the site attempted CPR and he was taken to hospital, where he died a short time later.

Sergent Martínez served tours of duty in Afghanistan, as well as Senegal and was a holder of the Cross of Military Merit with a White Badge.
