Vehicle manufacture output falls due to chip shortage

Vehicle manufactures in Spain have warned that production lines may slow due to a global shortage of computer chips.

Spanish vehicle production fell by 21.6% for the first half of this year when compared to 2019 figures. However it has increased by 26.1% compared to 2020 figures.

In total 1.2 million vehicles rolled off production lines across the country, however there are concerns the chip shortage could have an impact on output this year.

Industry bodies have said that disruption may last until this time next year.
