Weather warnings issued as Canaries to face first heatwave of the summer

Weather agency Aemet has issued amber and yellow weather warnings for the archipelago as the first major heatwave of the summer is expected today.

Top temperatures of 37 ºC are expected today, with thermometers not expected to fall below 25 ºC for the next 24 hours.

People are being advised to avoid exposure to the sun at it’s hottest periods, and to ensure they remain hydrated whilst the heat is at it’s peak.
